Entering the Republic of Belarus foreigner should have an agreement of mandatory medical insurance concluded with insurance organization of Belarus or their native country. Such an agreement can also be concluded at the Belarusian border points.
Availability of the agreement shall be confirmed by insurance policy which shall be valid within the entire period of a foreign guest stay, envisage an insured amount (limit of liability) not less than 5 thous. US dollars, cover insured accidents set up by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. Emergency Medical Services are rendered at all state medical and preventive treatment facilities of the Republic of Belarus; payment for the services is carried out according to price-current which is in force at the moment.
Minsk and Regional centres have non-state medical centres rendering basic types of prophylactic, healing and diagnostic, consultative and rehabilitative assistance.
A network of drugstores where one can buy medicines either on prescription or without it operates over the whole territory of Belarus. Large cities have a network of pharmacies on duty operating twenty four-seven.
