Railway Transport
Rail communication exists between Minsk and almost all of the largest capitals of Europe. The majority of Belarusian cities and towns also enjoy rail communication.
The Belarusian railway comprises of six divisions: Minsk, Baranovichi, Brest, Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk. The Belarusian Railway has an operational length of 5.5 thousand km. To improve export services of the Belarusian Railway, much attention is focused on implementing the automatic rolling stock identification system (ARSIS) allowing location and passage time of any trains to be more fully, highly operationally and credibly identified.
Suburban and passenger service on the Belarusian Railway provides communication among district and regional centres of the Republic. Nowadays’ schedule provides for cruising of 417 pairs of suburban trains, 22 trains to provide communication inside the Republic. There function 21 railroad terminals, including 4 out-of-class stations, more than 560 stopping point for passengers, and 320 railway stations.
The Central Railroad Terminal has proper transport communication (buses, trolleybuses, trams) with the most remote parts of the city.
